Following a conversation with the charity ’ s patron , Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson MBE , who is reputed to be the most severely injured soldier ever to survive when his WIMIK Land Rover detonated an anti-tank mine in Afghanistan , Rob and the Lockex organisers felt it was a natural step to support Pilgrim Bandits Charity at the show when it premieres next month . Rob said : “ Many of the locksmiths that read The Locksmith Journal , and who will be attending Lockex , are ex-service people . The work that Pilgrim Bandits Charity do to rehabilitate and inspire really resonated with me . We have invited them to come to the show and we hope our exhibitors and visitors will join us in supporting this very worthy cause .”

Rise In Triple Glazing Prompts Guide

The Glass and Glazing Federation ( GGF ) has launched a triple glazing guide to help manufacturers and installers .
In recent years the use of triple glazing has been on the rise . This increase could be attributed to greater demand from consumers because of more media coverage of the benefits of triple glazing . Architects and building designers are also specifying larger areas of glazing than referenced in Building Regulation Guidance , and there is increased awareness of the thermal benefits of triple glazing which is becoming the standard specification within low and zero energy homes . Companies in the industry are driving strong marketing campaigns to grow the triple glazing product sector . Russell Day , GGF Senior Technical Officer commented : “ This new guide considers the benefits associated with triple glazing , and the factors that manufacturers and installers of triple glazed windows should consider .” Those factors include thermal performance , acoustic performance , IGU and frame design and specification , manufacturing requirements , the effects on distribution and installation and the possible effects on optical and visual quality .

‘ Dynamic ’ software helps Promac improve

Machinery company Promac has chosen Insight Data ’ s cloud-based Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) system Salestracker . The system will help Promac to improve lead nurturing , relationship management and customer service . Promac supplies machinery to the PVCu , aluminium and glass industry . Salestracker is now being used throughout the entire business with its advanced features improving relationship management . Insight Data developed Salestracker as a sales and marketing platform which combines prospect databases with customer relationship management features . Users can access over 15,000 fabricators and installers as well as 45,000 builders , architects and major construction firms in the UK , with detailed market intelligence . They can then assign leads , add notes , attach documents , create alerts and tasks , and be notified of credit or financial data changes .
