KEEP FUEL COSTS DOWN
Petrol prices have made a stark increase over the last 12 months, and the recent supermarket
price war was a relief for many as £1 was saved on the average full fuel tank.
Redex, the fuel additive, has
come up with some handy mon-
ey-saving tips to help make even
further savings on fuel costs:
Keep your tyres
inflated
Having a lower tyre pressure
can increase drag on your car, so
it is beneficial to check pressures
are correct; it could increase your
fuel efficiency by up to three per
cent.
Declutter your car
Clearing out junk from your
boot and foot wells makes it eas-
ier to accelerate. By not carrying
around any unnecessary weight,
you can save around two per cent
of your fuel.
Take your roof rack off
According to the RAC, a roof
rack can affect fuel consumption
by a 10 per cent. If you don’t
need it, take it off, along with
anything else inefficient.
Don’t fill your
fuel tank up
While it might be tempting to
fill your car up when prices are
lower, fuel is heavy, so by do-
ing so you’re adding significant
weight to your vehicle. By filling
up slightly more often and putting
less in (to 1/2 or 3/4 full), your car
will run more efficiently.

emissions

engine life

Use Redex
You can make your tank go fur-
ther by using Redex. Its innovative
formula cleans the fuel system in
a car, preventing build-up of harm-
ful deposits on injectors, increas-
ing MPG, reducing emissions and
ultimately extending engine life.
DRONES INSPIRE
NEW HIGHWAYMEN
As autonomous droids, drones and vans take
over deliveries, online parcel broker ParcelHero
warns we could see a new generation of cyber-
highwaymen stealing over £1bn of items every year.
ParcelHero’s head of
consumer research David
Jinks MILT says: ‘Autono-
mous deliveries are already
happening. Amazon drones
have delivered parcels in
Cambridgeshire, droids have
carried food and goods in
Parcel drones and droids will inspire a new generation of highwayman, warns ParcelHero.
London, and driverless vans
are operating in Greenwich.
But as technology takes
over, a new generation
of cyber-criminals will be
bent on stealing from these
automated machines. While
the last recorded traditional
highwayman rode into the
sunset in 1831, it’s likely
21st century highwaymen
will soon be attempting to
force these devices to ‘stand
and deliver’.”
UK internet retail sales
are now worth over £133bn
a year. If these deliveries be-
come largely automated and
just 1% of items are waylaid
using new technology, that’s
over £1bn of goods stolen
a year.
