45 PRO INSTALLER APRIL 2015 GGF NEWS @proinstaller1 NEW MARKETERS WELCOMED The GGF welcomed three new Members to its Marketing and Communications Committee (MCC) and a new full time Marketing Executive to further drive the GGF’s Marketing strategy and activity, following four years of consistent and substantial marketing growth for the Federation. All four new marketers and re-elected Members attended the GGF’s first MCC Meeting of 2015 to discuss the GGF marketing activities and plans for 2015 and into 2016. ‘there is now a very good mix of diverse companies from across the industry to champion best practice’ The newly elected MCC Members are: Irene Smith, Marketing Communications Manager, REHAU Ltd; David Thornton, Managing Director, The Window Company (Contracts) Ltd and Mark Schlotel, Head of Marketing, Synseal. The three new Members join the six re-elected MCC Members including; • Anne Quayle, Marketing Manager, Pilkington UK Ltd. (MCC Chair) • Steve Scrivens, Marketing Manager, Guardian UK (Deputy Chair) • Stephen Byers, Managing Director, Ritec • Brian Baker, Glassolutions, Saint-Gobain • Greg O’Donoghue, Owner/Director, Just Windows and Doors Ltd • Paul Rogers, Chairman, Express Glazing Contractors Ltd Mark Schlotel commented, “It was great to meet the team and with Irene, David and myself joining the GGF Marketing and Communications Committee, there is now a very good mix of diverse companies from across the industry to champion best practice and help promote the GGF effectively.” In addition to the new MCC Members, the GGF has appointed Natasha Erskine as Marketing Executive. Natasha brings solid experience to the GGF having worked in the leisure and automotive sectors. James Lee, Head of GGF Marketing and Communications, summarised, “In 2015 we will be launching two new websites, introducing many new and updated technical publications and have a busy events schedule ahead. We welcome the support and expertise from the three new Members joining the Marketing Communications Committee and Natasha with her skills and experience is a great addition to the GGF Marketing and Communications Department.” Welcomed with open arms The Glass and Glazing Federation welcomed REHAU Ltd into full membership with a presentation in Birmingham on 26th March. People In Glass impress Following the Glass and Glazing Federation’s (GGF) decision to be one of the sponsors of the recent People in Glass (PIGS) event in Manchester on 6th March, the Federation was delighted with the success of the event. The first PIGS event of 2015 proved a huge success with over 150 people attending and evidently enjoying the networking over a drink or two. ‘a great event’ James Lee, Head of GGF Group Marketing, “It was a great event and great to see so many GGF members, potential new Members and of course many of our friends in the media. Gareth Jones, REHAU Marketing and Technical Director commented: “We are pleased to have joined the GGF and are keen to get involved in many areas of shared interest. In the industry the REHAU brand stands for unbeatable performance and technical excellence and being part of the industry’s leading trade body can only reinforce our position.” REHAU has already become involved in the GGF infrastructure with the recent election of Irene Smith, REHAU Marketing Communications Manager to the GGF Marketing and Communications Committee (MCC). On accepting the position, Irene commented: “My appointment coincides with REHAU joining the GGF, so I hope I can bring a fresh perspective and some new ideas, as well as supporting all of the excit- ing marketing initiatives which are already being planned.” James Lee, GGF Head of Group Marketing, presented REHAU with their Certificate and commented: “We are delighted to welcome REHAU into the GGF Membership. The Federation comprises of companies who pride themselves on delivering the highest professional and technical standards in their sectors, and REHAU are no different. With their vast experience from operating in the industry for almost 70 years and boasting state of the art manufacturing in the UK, REHAU will be a real asset to the Federation.” Gareth Jones added: “We are delighted with Irene’s recent election onto the Committee (MCC) and we are keen to get more involved with the GGF wherever possible in particular in the technical and relevant specialist Groups.”
