Jensen’s motto is short and sweet: “Go and do.”
her story
Jensen’s love for art is the driving force behind all she does.
From an extremely young age, it was clear she was born to be
an artist. She explains, “My love for art began so long ago, I
don’t even remember when it started. I’d have to say it began
the first time my parents handed me a crayon.” She has received
numerous awards for her art over the years, including the Duke
TIP Award and local medals. Jensen’s artistic focus has afforded
her the opportunity to take part in joint enrollment with the
Savannah College of Art and Design during her junior year.
When she is not hard at work on her latest art piece, Jensen
enjoys giving back to her community through volunteer service
with the Pike County Cattlewomen’s Association and the
Twilighters Service Club. She is a staff member of her school’s
yearbook and a youth member at both Southside Baptist
Church and Brundidge United Methodist Church.
what’s next
Jensen wants to run her own art gallery in the future, hoping to
showcase local artists. “If I were not to pursue a career in art, I
would pursue a career in business or event planning.”

“My parents shaped me to be the person I am today by always
encouraging me to make and share my own opinion on
everything,” replied Jensen when asked how her parents have
inspired her.
parents’ perspective
Jensen’s parents, Steve and Jennifer, admire that she is “determined,
driven, and okay with being herself.” Jennifer adds, “We always try
to find opportunities for her to grow through her love of art and her
leadership skills.”
parent-to-parent
Simply put, Jensen’s parents suggest that other parents
never give up! In addition, Jennifer advises other parents
to “support (their) kids in the direction they want to go
in life.”
