According to the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), there were five reported cases of Mumps in Tuscaloosa from January to February of this year and another reported at Auburn University. The CDC reports that there were close to 500 cases nation-wide in that time frame. The ADPH stresses the importance of immunization to prevent vaccine-preventable illnesses. Is your teen up-to-date?
