all-around go-getter with a heart of gold
her story
Anne Louise Pass has a heart for service, one she comes by
honestly, as both her mom and dad have dedicated their lives
to helping others. Her father is a missionary, and her mom is
an interpreter for the deaf. While the 16-year-old Montgomery
Academy junior is still struggling to decide exactly which
direction her life will take, she is absolutely sure of one thing:
“I want to help people who can’t help themselves and speak for
those who have no voice.”
Two of her siblings are adopted, and her passion for adoption
has had a major influence on her life choices so far. She shadowed
a local adoption attorney for a recent career day and shared with
him an essay she wrote for school. The attorney published the
paper on his blog and received some amazing feedback. “He got
1,500 views on my essay in one day as opposed to the usual 100,”
Anne Louise said. “I’m proud of that.”

Her interests range from science, to communications, to
musical theatre, and she’s had success in all arenas, leading her
to consider careers as diverse as neurologist to author. “I am so
happy when I get to sing places,” she said. She recently competed
in the statewide Trumbauer contest and took home second place
in the female dramatic soloist category.
With all of this, including being involved in drama club, a
Bible study, government club, French club and her church choir
and puppet team, she’s also excelled academically, proving she’s as
good a juggler as she is anything else.

Robin and Frank Pass are most proud of their daughter’s dedication to doing what’s right. “She is passionate about things being
fair and right,” Robin said. “She stands up so clearly and without
any hesitation for what she believes in.” Frank is moved by her desire to make the world a better place. “She wants to use her talents
for the benefit of others,” he said.
