Saint James School Honors Veteran ’ s Day
Saint James School hosted an assembly for middle school and high school students Thursday morning in honor of Veteran ’ s Day . Guest speaker and father to STJ Senior Grace Coffelt , Brigadier General Christopher Coffelt delivered a message of honor , respect , and inspiration to the students . He encouraged them to lead lives of every day service including giving of their time and talent to others . Several active and retired military personnel were recognized , and General Coffelt acknowledged the great sacrifice that children of military families make as they move from station to station . Head of School Dr . Larry McLemore and several Saint James students directed the assembly including the Presentation of Colors and Pledge of Allegiance , the Saint James Band playing the national anthem , and Senior Class President Colton Alter offering the closing prayer . It was a warm and moving assembly to lead the students into the holiday weekend ahead .

Edgewood Academy Middle School Places Second in Scholar ’ s Bowl
Edgewood Academy ’ s Middle School Scholar ’ s Bowl team placed second in the AISA District 6 middle school competition . Mrs . Teresa Hicks is their sponsor . Edgewood is so proud of the Scholars Bowl team !
Montgomery Academy Upper School technology students are learning about the science behind holograms ( also known as Pepper ’ s Ghost ) and how they are used today and their impact on society . From the Holocaust Museum , ( recording survivor ’ s stories ) to Disney World ( creating unforgettable experiences like Haunted Mansion Ballroom ), holograms are becoming more popular and useful .
Montgomery Academy Upper School Students Create Holograms
This is a three part process : 1 . Student created a reflective pyramid out of a plastic CD case in conjunction with a hologram video found on YouTube , to display a holographic video via their cell phones . 2 . In groups , students will construct the same pyramid , but larger , for their iPads , a stage to put it on and create their own holographic video . These will be on display in the Design and Innovation Lab and be judged by the students and teachers . The winning design will be chosen as the large scale TV monitor hologram project . 3 . The entire class will work together to create a hologram for a TV monitor that will be placed in the hall lobby of the Caddell Technology Center . Students will construct the stage to hold the TV , the reflector pyramid and an original hologram explaining what the students learn in the Caddell Technology Center at Montgomery Academy .
