At Montgomery Academy, she’s served as an Ambassador, French Club President, Lower School Peer Pal, a member of the Forensics Team, Government Club, H.E.A.R.T Community Service Club, Academy Girls’ Bible Study, and played on the tennis team. Lilla Bea was also nominated by Montgomery Academy to participate in Alabama Girls’ State, which was held at the University of Alabama this year. There, one girl from each school in Alabama participates in a program that sets up a mock state government. Lilla Bea was elected by her peers to serve as Lieutenant Governor. the go-getter: Although her parents take little credit for the person Lilla Bea’s becoming, admitting that she’s a “real self-starter,” Lilla Bea calls them her cheerleaders. “They’re very supportive and encourage me to pursue my passions.” Lilla Bea had a hard time choosing which activity she likes most, but expressed how much she enjoys tutoring the second graders at Family Sunshine Center. Though Lilla Bea is uncertain about her future career path at the moment, she looks to her pediatrician and successful women such as Tory Burch and Lilly Pulitizer as inspiration. She admires all of their determination and has considered working in the design field or possibly owning her own business. Montgomery, Ala. She’s the only child and enjoys when her family spends time together cooking, going to the lake or taking other trips together. parents’ perspective According to Lilla Bea’s parents Trey and Lilla Granger, “She is the quintessential people-person” and has a way of making everyone feel at ease. She always has a smile on her face, and her parents agree that they’ve been blessed since the day she was born. parent-to-parent Trey and Lilla Granger have been taught that education and hard work make up the foundation for one’s success in life and have passed that on to their daughter.
