I’m a big believer in living in the present. When you believe the Lord is in control of your life, even those “wrong decisions” are a part of your unique story. I wish I had been more prayerful and not talked myself out of pursuing a graphic design degree. I had an interest in it because I was on Trinity’s yearbook staff for three years and was the editor my senior year. Auburn has an amazing and competitive graphic design program. After learning about the program and seeing students’ work, instead of being prayerful about it, I pretty much talked myself out of trying it because I was scared of failing. My advice is that if you have an interest or a passion, at least try pursuing it. If it’s not right, doors will close. I don’t beat myself up over not pursuing it because I know things happened just as they should. power of speaking words of life, especially to the younger generation who is constantly being told by culture that they’re not good enough. Speaking encouragement and biblical truth to them, even when it’s hard, along with prayer, can make a huge difference in their lives. I interned with them for three summers before I was a full-time team member, so I knew much of what I was walking into. I highly recommend job shadowing and internships to get a feel for a career field. future focus: I’ve never been one to have a five-year plan.
