how it began
Rachel Treubig is a natural leader. At Alabama Christian Academy, she’s the President of the National Honors Society, Treasurer
of the Key Club, member of the Student Action Leadership Team
and 7th grade small group leader. She also served under the
Secretary General in the Model United Nations program and has
been granted opportunities to participate in national leadership
opportunities.
She, along with six other ACA students, was selected to
participate in a week-long Presidential Leadership Institute at
York College in York, Neb., and she was also one of two representatives from Montgomery chosen to attend the National Rural
Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., where she
had the opportunity to meet with representatives and senators.
Rachel says her parents told her to “find your passion, and
once you find it, follow it’s,” advice she takes to heart.
what’s next
After high school graduation, Rachel plans to continue using her
leadership skills by pursuing a career as an elementary school
teacher.

PG (parental guidance) rating
Rachel is proud to have parents who practice what they preach.
She calls them her greatest inspiration. “They taught me how to
reach my goals and showed me examples through their lives,”
Rachel said.

parents’ perspective
John and Janet admire Rachel’s strong will and tendency to be a
self-starter. “Rachel is a natural born leader, so when Rachel knows
she is right, she doesn’t back down. We see this as a plus, as we are
called to be the light in a darkened world.”.
John and Janet make sure they talk through major decisions beforehand with Rachel. “We thoroughly believe that we have to have
a long-range plan, discuss it, execute it and make course corrections
as unforeseen events come up.”
parent-to-parent
Rachel’s dad, John Treubig grew up under the guidance of parents
who taught him to “try everything that interests you.”
For this reason, John believes other parents should
“stay active in the life of your child. You do not need to
be a helicopter parent, but you need to know what is
going on in the life of your child to coach them effectively.”
