Every year since 1955, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation
(NMSC) recognizes and honors our country’s academically talented
students through its Scholarship Program, and the PSAT is the qualifying
test for these scholarships, annually screening 1.5 million entrants.
Beginning in March and continuing to mid-June, NMSC selects and
notifies approximately 8,300 Finalists that they have been selected to
receive one of three Merit Scholarship awards:
