and edited collection, he has published numerous scholarly essays as
well. He also publishes fiction, including a story, co-written with Jacob
Weisman, “Egyptian Motherlode,” about the strange adventures of a
funk music pioneer named The Prophet. He hopes the story will one day
be a novel. He doesn't play any instruments worth a damn, though.
