Contributors 151 Qun Wang is Associate Professor of the Humanities at California State Univer sity, Monterey Bay. He is the Interim Coordinator of the Master of Arts Program in Interdisciplinary Studies and Co-Director of the Institute for Human Communi cation. He has authored three books and numerous articles on American drama and American ethnic literature and cultures. Gwenda Young has been a lecturer in film studies in the Department of English, National University of Ireland, Cork, Ireland since 1994. She graduated with an MA in film from the National University of Ireland, Dublin in 1993 and with a Ph.D. from NUI Dublin in 1998. Her thesis was a critical study of American Jacques Tourneur. Her research interests include: Hollywood cinema during the 1930’s-1950’s; American and European Silent cinema from 1914-1927; Modem Irish cinema; Gender in Cinema; and genre cinema.
