and accepted that my body type was different. After this, I became more comfortable with my size and embraced my curves. I decided that I was at a point where I was comfortable enough with my body to try modeling and I made a promise to myself to give it my 100% for a year and see if it worked. So I started researching models who were in the industry, agencies, photographers and started taking modeling classes. In 2014 I began my modeling journey and got signed to my agency and the rest is history. Who do you look to for curvy inspiration? When it comes to inspiration, I look to models who are also visibly plus and have made a great impact in the industry. I also am inspired by other models that have had success & longevity in this industry. One model that comes to mind that embodies all these qualities is Christina Mendez. She has been a huge inspiration in my modeling career and has been very supportive and encouraging towards me since day one. Other models who inspire me are Jeannie Ferguson, Liris Crosse, Anita Marshall, Naimah Terry, Alex La Rosa, Vanessa Mays- Hinds and Monique Robinson. I am happy to know all of these wonderful ladies and call them my peers. I have much respect and love for all of them. What is the plus industry like in your hometown? I am a born and raised Jersey Girl and being so close to the fashion capital of the world (New York) gives me a good sense of plus fashion. There are many indie and up-and-coming plus designers and photographers in the area. Also, the Ms. Full-Figured USA pageant is held each year in New Jersey.
