swimwear has always been one of your strongest staples . You also started your own lingerie line in Brazil . Can you tell us more about that ?
Yes , I think swimwear is probably the strongest staple of most Brazilians ’ lifestyle ! I grew up in bikinis and have always had drawers full of them , so it made perfect sense to venture into making my own collection . The lingerie line came from sheer demand and love for lingerie as well . I was tired of hearing women complain about the lack of options and I was very eager to learn about the process of manufacturing and development of lingerie . Everything had my input , every bit of the designing process had my involvement in it and it was an amazing , educational journey ! Now we are working on the second collection and I ’ m so excited about it all !!
You ’ ve also been doing other things around the world . Tell us about it .
I just got signed as the face for the largest South African plus size brand Donna Claire , and I ’ m off to shoot their summer campaign in Cape Town next week . I ’ ve also signed an amazing partnership with the European giant Kiabi , where I ’ ll be shooting a few campaigns . I ’ m also involved in an amazing show in Brazil where we will be searching Brazil ’ s next top plus size model . In September , I ’ ll be doing a worship event in Lisbon where we will be speaking about all things body love and appreciation .
You were recently featured in a successful TV commercial for Target that showed so much diversity and beauty . How was that experience ?
I was incredibly flattered that I was chosen to be part of such a positive concept commercial and more so because it was directed towards the Latino community . It ’ s not often models my size get embraced by the fashion industry in such a positive manner , but I think Target has a broader
