PMM : We are still on a high after experiencing FFFWeek 2016 in NYC . Was this your first time walking the runway for this show ? What was this experience like for you ?
Veronica : FFFWEEK was amazing ! This is the first time I have ever walked for them considering that I was denied the last two years . < laughs >
The experience was awesome . There was so much value in the knowledge obtained from Sharon Quinn ( FFFWEEK Casting Director ). She helped me understand how to bring character and poise to the runway , as well as applying success habits on and off the runway .
Gwen DeVoe ( FFFWEEK Creator & Executive Producer ) showed us the business aspect and how to engage the community . They make a powerful team and understand what it takes to put on a great show for the plus industry .
PMM : As an aspiring model , what was the most confusing and / or difficult things you faced while trying to break into the industry ?
Veronica : There is a misconception in both the straight and plus industries . I feel as if no one knows how to be original anymore . People follow crowds and whatever is popular at the moment . When you have a strong sense of self , you realize that you don ’ t need to do what everyone else is doing and you don ’ t need to be in everyone ’ s face . You can remain authentic in your art and what is real is mutually felt by others . I ’ ve learned to allow the abundance of my goals to manifest itself and embody my own self love message . It not only takes the pressure off externally , but it also opens me up to enjoying the moment and embracing genuine connections made along the way . In making a difference or being an impact , you cannot rush what you want to last forever .
