I thought to myself, “I’m gonna do that one day!”. So I did some research and found a link to submit images to Torrid. I sent them in and about two months later, they called me in for my first photo shoot! I modeled freelance for a few years and eventually signed with IPM in 2013. You recently moved to New York City. Can you tell us about what led you to make this move and how your experience has been so far? Moving across the country to chase my dream has been a very big, scary and exciting decision. New York has always been the fashion capital of the world and that holds true in the plus size modeling industry. Modeling in LA was very rewarding and successful for me; however after many conversations with my agent at IPM Models, I decided to make the big move. I learned from my agent that there were more opportunities for models my size in NYC. New York has been absolutely wonderful to me thus far. I’ve worked with some amazing new clients and I am very much looking forward to what this beautiful city has in store for me this year! The plus size industry is constantly changing and we have seen a lot of support for brands using visibly plus size models. As a plus size model, how do you feel about the term “plus size”? Can you share with us your experience as a visibly plus sized model? Practically, I think that the term “plus size” is a tool used by brands, designers, and shoppers to communicate with each other about the size of clothing offered in a specific space. But personally, the term is something that I hold dear to my heart. It is in the plus size fashion industry that I have had the opportunity to make my dreams come true. It is as a plus size
