Maddy: Have you always embraced your curves? Jessica: I have never complained about my body, but I knew I looked different than many of my friends and family and, I won’t lie, it bothered me from time-to-time. I was the tallest and usually the most developed from the people I knew, so I stood out. I grew up with most of my family in Puerto Rico and they would always call me, “Gorda” (fat girl) as a term of endearment. So it was always engraved in my head, but they loved it. It was never frowned upon. What I learned later was to embrace all things that made me different, because that was what someone was going to love about me on day and I love standing out now. As a model, now I need to come up with even more ways to stand out of a sea of gorgeous women. Maddy: Being a Latina and watching your career blossom has been especially gratifying for Jessica: Thank You, this means so much to me because I admire and respect everything that you have done for this industry. I learned that nobody is going to hand you information on a silver platter. You need Ѽ
