Philippine Showbiz Today April 22 - May 7, 2017 Jan. 22-Feb.7, 2015 Diego Loyzaga on his first lead role in ABS-CBN teleserye Pusong Ligaw After almost two years, Diego Loyzaga is finally returning to the acting scene through the TV se- ries Pusong Ligaw. Diego was last seen in the primetime remake of Pangako Sa’Yo, which was headlined by his friends Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Teresa Loyzaga’s son couldn’t be any happier that he finally land- ed his first title soap. “Ako unang una ang galing. Para sabihin sa ‘yo na hindi ka na pang-suppport, pang-bida ka na. Ang hirap i-explain, i-express ‘yung feeling na marinig ‘yun,” he said during their show’s press conference. Aside from Diego, Pusong Ligaw also stars his ka-love team Sofia Andres, Beauty Gonzalez. Joem Bascon, Bianca King, Enzo Pineda and Raymond Bagatsing. The young actor admitted that he felt validated after being given the project. “Yung feeling na napansin karin na parang nag-e-effort ka na gawin ang role mo at binigyan ka ng oportunidad at pagkakatiwa- laan ka ng mga bosses ng ABS- CBN,” he said. “It’s definitely a dream come true bilang artista. So I’m just thankful, grateful and I love ABS- CBN. I’m just happy and there are no words,” Diego added. Many have noticed during the press conference that Diego’s Tagalog speaking skills have also greatly improved. Although there were days when he’s still “bulol” Diego is very happy with his prog- ress learning the language. “Talagang pinipili ko lang mag-Tagalog lagi at oo may rule na kami sa set na wala ng pwe- deng kumausap sakin ng Ingles puro Tagalog lang talaga,” he said. Meanwhile, it may be recalled that Diego made headlines in Feb- ruary for his feisty tirades against his father Cesar Montano on so- cial media. All these things, however, are seemingly behind Diego now thanks to the people who support him. “Nalagpasan ko na eh. Nanay ko siyempre tsaka si Sofia [ang nasa likod ko at tsaka ang] pami- lya ko. [Tsaka] ‘yung mga taong malapit talaga sakin,” said Diego. But he emphasized that “So- fia had my back throughout the whole, whatever it was.” Pusong Ligaw will be replac- ing  The Greatest Love starting April 24. ● - M.M. Blemonte, push 7
