12 Philippine Showbiz Today Kris Aquino is currently in Los Angeles, California to sign an international movie deal.  The actress revealed the Hol- lywood project in a lengthy social media post on Easter Sunday, re- counting what she went through the past year, including the rejec- tions she experienced because, as she said, “hiring an Aquino for TV was a political risk not worth taking.” But it was not all sad news. On Instagram, Aquino related her journey to serve as inspiration, she said. “[T]oday Easter Sunday – I wanted you to know my story... I pray it gives you encouragement & hope.”  She also narrated how she prepared for an audition shoot that eventually landed her a role in a Hollywood movie. “I passed 5 levels of intense scrutiny and was offered a role,” she announced on Instagram. Aquino, however, cannot re- veal details of the production. “I signed a non disclosure agree- ment so until they reveal my par- ticipation I can’t share any details about the movie & my role,” she said. Here is Aquino’s post: “For a year, I experienced rejections. A part of my spirit broke. There were 2 shows I lost because hiring an Aquino for TV was a political risk not worth taking... The pressure was I had to submit my reel in 72 hrs. In an Instagram post on Tues- day (Manila time), Aquino shared that she is now managed glob- ally by East West Artists, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. “My entertainment career will be under the direct supervision of one of their partners, Chris Lee,” she wrote as she shared a photo of her lunch meeting with Lee in Los Angeles. Aquino and Lee met to dis- cuss plans about the former Ka- pamilya talent’s still unnamed Hollywood project. While Aquino has remained mum about the project because of a non-disclosure agreement, fans are speculating that she will be part of the movie adaptation of “Crazy Rich Asians,” a novel by Kevin Kwan.
