During the five months of patrols, Operation Albacore arrested three Chinese trawlers operating out of the Congo, one Spanish long-liner and two Congolese fishing boats. Most importantly the arrests sent a strong message to poachers to stay out of Gabonese waters. The three Chinese trawlers were part of a fleet of eight and with the arrest and detainment for three months of the three, plus a €400,000 fine, the rest of the fleet did not return.

The Spanish long-liner was licensed to fish tuna but when boarded only shark fins were found. The ship was detained for three weeks and the investigation turned over to the European Union to adjudicate.

The two Congolese pirogues were illegally taking hammerhead sharks and were seized by Gabon.
