When Roger Bracewell purchased his tractor driven extruder in
1992 to turn the wheat grown on his family’s farm into a simple
dog food, little could he have imagined that, 25 years later
it would employ 350 people over two sites, and export their
goods throughout Europe and beyond.
As the business grew over the years, technology has improved,
and procedures have changed. There was the need to install
high speed doors on some of the exterior openings to the
production facility to help prevent ingress of pests as well
as controlling the ambient temperature of the facility. The
company selected a door that, at the time they believed would
be perfect for them, from a company that they could rely on. Unfortunately, previously
this was not the case as they were being let down by the response times they were
receiving, as well as the ongoing maintenance costs of the doors. The decision was
made to trial a door from Klimate, which is a trading division of BID Group.
Blue Diamond
Expands Storage
and Distribution
Capability
Blue Diamond Technologies of Southampton, designers and manufacturers
of custom-made mechanical components, has expanded its storage and
distribution capability with the purchase of a new 1250 sq metre warehousing
facility just along the road from the company’s existing headquarters.
Whilst previously all Blue Diamond operations had been housed under one
roof, the additional space will allow even greater efficiency in the storage and
distribution of the Company’s specialist products and will be particularly helpful
as regards time-critical delivery arrangements such as Just-in-time (JIT) and
KANBAN.

Putting Information
in the Frame
Info Cube is a unique new concept from The Tube &
Bracket Company that allows businesses to create
highly personalised structures to display important
information in almost any environment.
The reusable modular components used to create
an Info Cube are available in a variety of durable
materials and colours so that users can devise
robust and visually appealing designs that match
corporate styles. Info Cube is ideal for visual management applications as well
as retail displays, signage, promotions, temporary exhibitions and other settings
where an impact is needed.
This new door proved to be a much better solution than the previously purchased
doors and as such in the following seven months a further eight doors were specified,
ordered and installed taking the total number of Klimate doors on site to nine with an
additional one outstanding.
The simplest Info Cube is built using interchangeable and reusable lengths of
steel or aluminium tube and composite brackets. Whiteboards, noticeboards,
leaflet dispensers, screens and similar flat items can be mounted into the frame
to complete the Info Cube. Wheels or castors can be added to make mobile
structures.
