Riello introduces low
NOx versions to popular
RS series
Riello has introduced low NOx (<80mg/kWh) ‘blue
flame’ versions to all sizes of its RS range of burners.
This is achieved through the use of a low NOx combustion head to ensure emissions
conforming to EN 676 Class 3 in capacities from 3,600 kW to 6,250 kW.
The RS series of high-power monoblock burners is characterised by the advanced
technological developments that have contributed to its design and energy-efficient
performance, delivering high power levels whilst minimising size and weight. Dual fuel
RLS low NOx models will soon also be available, featuring a dedicated pump motor to
ensure a long life for the oil pump, combined with energy-savings.
RS models 310, 410, 510 and 610 are available in various air-fuel ratio control
configurations, with the option of mechanical cam or electronic cam for modulation
control. Variable speed drive technology ensures both low noise and electrical power
savings. Easy access to internal components through a hinged panel facilitates speed
of commissioning and maintenance.
Suez launch breakthrough
Ice Pigging Machine for
food & FMCG processing
sector
Suez Advanced Solutions are launching the world’s first hygienic Ice Pigging
machine, the AQL500, suitable for applications in the food and Fast-Moving
Consumer Goods sectors.
Ice Pigging is a new process for clearing pipes that uses slush ice instead of water,
a common method of purging product from pipes in food processing. Slush ice has
unique rheological properties that means it can pass through variations in pipe work
such as valves, bends and changes in diameter without becoming stuck in the pipe,
yet has highly effective cleaning properties similar to a solid ‘pig’ when in the pipe.
The launch of the AQL500 factory-ready hygienic Ice Pigging machine comes as a
result of 5 years of development and is now available across Europe. The machine
is designed for permanent installation into a production facility where it will provide
‘ice pigs’ on an automated basis.

Roll grinding machine
receives elastic bearing
from Getzner
Put down the pickling
paste. Safety first
with Inverter Fusion’s
Fusion Clean
To ensure the precision of an industrial grinding
machine weighing 170 metric tons at the Cernaybased company Valmet, Getzner Werkstoffe installed a vibration protection solution in
2015. The elastic Sylodyn® bearings protect the machine from vibrations to preserve
the accuracy of its precision work while reducing maintenance needs at the same time.
In order that the new precision grinding machine at the service centre of the technology
provider Valmet in Cernay can be operated with long-term reliability, it was fitted with
a vibration protection solution from Getzner in 2015. At 17 metres long and roughly
five metres wide, the industrial grinding machine is used to renew the surface of metal
rollers, such as those found in the paper and cardboard industry. The 170 metric ton
unit rests on point bearings of Sylodyn® NE to protect it against shocks and vibrations.
Developed and manufactured by Getzner itself, the material effectively reduces the
transfer of vibrations, allowing the machine to deliver results with the utmost precision
while reducing maintenance costs at the same time.

The traditional ‘pickling paste’, primarily used to clean stainless steels after welding,
is a combination of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid which can not only cause serious
burns, but also serious lung problems. Although it is used widely, the dangers
involved are often overlooked.
Inverter Fusion’s new Fusion Clean machine is a high-quality, electrolytic cleaner
which is not only much safer, but is also far more convenient: the results are
instantaneous, and the finish is excellent. And since it avoids the use of harsh toxic
chemicals with their attendant storage, handling and disposal problems, the Fusion
Clean machine also saves time and money. Lightweight, portable and operator
friendly, Fusion Clean is available in 240v and 110v versions and is housed in a
sturdy toughened nylon case for protection, with fan cooling to achieve 100% duty
cycles.
