Inline vortex flow meters with user-friendly display
A
new range of flow meters
is now available direct
from leading sensor
manufacturer ifm electronic
Ltd. The SV range of flow meters
measure flows is designed primarily
for cooling water flow measurement
and will also handle deionised water.
Critically for cooling applications,
the SV also features integrated
temperature measurement.
In contrast to flaps and floats, a vortex
flow meter has no mechanical moving
parts to go wrong, so the SV range will
provide reliable metering for years to
come.
A highlight of the SV is also the
rotatable display, which can show the
flow rate and temperature as well as
user-defined location information.
The display shows flow or flow and
temperature and colour indications
for flow and/or temperature can be
set independent of one another. The
background lighting is adjustable, and
the background colour can be changed
from black (factory setting) to white.
The two available outputs can be
configured in a variety of ways; to
provide a simple switched outputs
(selectable as PNP or NPN) or
frequency outputs indication flow or
temperature. The SV is also IO-Linkenabled, providing the user with full
control over settings and more process
or diagnostic information, with the true
measured value available.
The SV comes in three sizes for flow
ranges up to 20, 40 or 100l/min
in ½” or ¾” pipes with a medium
temperature between -10 and 90°C.
Flow measurement accuracy is ±2%
MV + 2 % MEV and temperature
measurement: ±1k.
