AUMA UK has completed a major actuator refurbishment programme at Thames Water’s Ashford Common advanced water treatment works. The upgrade project involved refurbishing 130 electric actuators and installing 30 new units over a nine week period, whilst keeping the site fully operational. Enclosed in 19-inch housing, the DMP41 is suitable for calibration and adjustment of strain gauge based force, torque and pressure transducers, as well as load cells and flow sensors that are calibrated using load cells. Featuring an accuracy class of 0.005, the DMP41 guarantees maximum precision, even in the toughest of conditions, such as industrial environments with high EMC requirements. Commenting on the achievement, AUMA UK Managing Director Paul Hopkins said: For further information, contact HBM on +44 (0) 20 8515 6000 or via email: [email protected] or visit the HBM website at http://www.hbm.com/en/ Considerable savings for Flowplant thanks to Invend™ Flowplant’s operators required a system that provided them with a clear understanding of where stock is and how it can be retrieved. Following research into an internal solution, Flowplant contacted Brammer after reading its whitepaper on industrial vending which highlighted the potential savings of between 25 and 40 per cent on consumables. Brammer’s Invend™ allowed Flowplant to benefit from an industrial vending machine service without the upfront cost of having to purchase the machine. Brammer installed the Invend™ machine into Flowplant’s factory, giving site managers a complete oversight of what is being used, by who and how often. “The ability to renovate a 22 year old actuator is testament to the modular design and high quality construction of the AUMA product. The simple single plug and socket arrangement of the AUMA actuator means minimum downtime during actuator replacement and avoids any possibility of introducing field wiring errors.” Tel: +44 (0) 1275 871141 www.auma.com William Hughes boosts component cleaning business with acquisition of AC Services World-leading spring, wire form and assembly specialist, William Hughes Ltd, has purchased AC Services (South West) Ltd of Yeovil, to enhance the component cleaning side of its business.
