Product News Increase Reliability and Efficiency of your Weighing Process Even small inefficiencies can add up to big costs. Why settle for inefficient operations when you can improve overall productivity with innovative POWERCELL® technology from METTLER TOLEDO. New maXYmos NC for monitoring and controlling Kistler NC servo press modules The new Type 5847 maXYmos NC represents a significant improvement to the capabilities of the Kistler NC servo press modules. The maXYmos NC will monitor, evaluate and document the XY characteristics of joining and press-fit processes using the force and displacement data from the servo press module. Modern weigh modules with POWERCELL® technology help predict and diagnose issues before they even happen to avoid downtime and production problems - keeping your equipment running until repair is possible. The new version extends the capability of the NC Servo Press system to monitor and control the shape of the measurement curves against a defined profile in real-time. A significantly greater degree of control in terms of position, velocity and force, is possible compared with equivalent hydraulic systems. As a result, optimum cycle times can be achieved with the highest degree of process repeatability. METTLER TOLEDO’s accuracy white paper and batch-control checklist can help increase yield, reduce risks and enhance the efficiency of your weighing process. Stand-alone batch controller advantages also include: Rugged panel mounting indicators may be safely installed in Ex e cabinets • Legislative compliance • Consistent results • Lower costs www.mt.com/uk-SWB605-WP www.mt.com/uk-batch-checklist Densoband aids prevention of concrete surface cracking Winn & Coales Densoband was specifically developed to meet Highways Agency requirements for concrete-toasphalt joints and asphalt-to-asphalt road joints. Now, a new use has been found by CLS Civil Engineering of Brigg, Lincs., which does not rely on Densoband’s longterm water sealing properties. Following discussion with Winn & Coales (Denso) Ltd a 55x8mm version of Densoband was used to provide an expansion joint between the concrete and the steel anchoring in a gap in the channel of a steel anchor plinth base for a wind turbine foundation. The purpose was to prevent cracking on the surface of the concrete base to which the turbine is anchored, which can be caused by temperature differences and the vibration that can arise from movement of the wind tower. The Densoband strip also prevents any stone or gravel debris getting into the channel. Housed in a 316 stainless steel case with an impact resistant IP66 front, these IECEx and ATEX certified indicators significantly reduce installation complexity and cost. The instrument certificates define in which certified cabinets and in which Zones the indicators may be installed. Minimum raw material wastage and risk through track and trace • Email: [email protected] www.terex.com The Ex nA non-sparking certified indicators do not require a Zener barrier or galvanic isolator and may be installed in Zone 2 cabinets. For Zone 1 applications the intrinsically safe models should be used. Both are supported by Application Guides, AG310 for Ex nA and AG300 for Ex i applications.
