Curls are back, and from what I can
see from upcoming hair collections,
they are here to stay for more than
just a season. Embracing curl is the
first step. Most of my clients with
naturally curly hair are afraid to go
natural, fearing that they will look
unpolished or sloppy. Soon, curly
hair will be a standard. Every woman
with straight hair will be perming, and
every woman with curly hair will be
taking a long break from her flat irons.
The best advice I can give when you
enter this brave new world of perming or embracing your natural texture
is finding the right product combination. The hard truth is that curls have
a mind of their own, and they need a
lot of product to “behave.” Usually,
just one product is not going to cut it.
Find something that gives moisture
(like a cream) and a different product that gives hold for curl control. If
the first two products you try do not
work, do not give up! Sadly, there
is not that one perfect product that
works for everybody. You have to
find your own “right” combination.
My go-to combination for my clients
is the Be Curly Curl Enhancer for moisture and frizz control and the Confixor
Liquid Gel for hold and curl control.
