Trish Lindsay Thomas Trish Lindsay Thomas spent the first 20 years of her career as a globetrotting entrepreneur founding product, toy and media companies for kids. Since meeting her husband, Dick, on a plane in 2004, he started a business, Tris3ct. com; she gained four teenage stepsons, gave birth to two more sons, adopted two dogs and mastered the carpool. Trish plans to start another 100 PEACHY My husband and I recently played the “If money was no object where would you live?” game. Our home and life in Evanston won. Our 1909 landmark arts and crafts house (one of dozens in our neighborhood) doesn’t feature the latest architectural trends but our views of lake Michigan are amazing. It is truly awesome to see how the lake changes daily and to hear its roar. Evanston is “the best of both worlds” when you live in the Chicago area. A visit to downtown Chicago doesn’t feel like a “day trip” because it is a mere 20-minute drive—or 12 minutes by train—yet we live in a neighborhood just steps from the lake. Evanston has a more eclectic and international feel than many of the other North Shore neighborhoods because Northwestern University attracts people from all over the world. EAT Most people plan ahead, reserve a table in the festive dining room of The Stained Glass and spend several hours enjoying five-star food in a casual setting. But our favorite last-minute date night is sitting at The Stained Glass bar, tasting (or just flat out drinking) several of its amazing wines by
