Garden in the Sky
ABOVE Peel-up benches under grove in the 10th Avenue Square . RIGHT Creative seating and screening .
Adjacent to the amphitheatre , a grove of three-flower maples frames a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island . This provides a shaded spot on which to rest on “ peel-up ” benches . A trellis of wire-edged in metal , climbing vines and wooden benches is another thoughtful use of materials . All are easily found , but they are used in a way that treats the eye to interesting construction and that works as a screen from the surrounding elements .
