EXETER IS YOUR HOME, whether you live on campus or commute here every day. From the moment you arrive, you join a community of friends, coaches, teachers and their families. At Exeter, we take a different approach to living at school. The first people you meet here are returning students, waiting to show you around. Boarders live in the same dorm until they graduate, which creates a smaller family within the community, generates house pride and deepens friendships across classes. Older students and dorm proctors take on the mantle of welcoming and guiding new students, becoming older siblings and mentors. Additional support, and the occasional home-cooked meal, is available from instructors who live on campus. Day students feel like they live on campus, too. They stay late for rehearsals, sports practices, music lessons or to study with friends in the library. Day students have sleepovers in the dorms, and return the favor in their homes on weekends and school breaks. 24 P H I L L I PS E X E T E R ACA D E M Y
