FUN AND GAMES Here’s a tradition everyone loves: Academy Life Day. At the start of each school year, classes are suspended for an entire day to give boarding students a chance to spend time with their dorm mates and dorm faculty, and day students connect with one another and their advisers. Teachers and students head off campus for hikes, beaches, apple-picking ... or they stay on campus to play capture the flag and silk-screen dorm-loyalty tees. *the kilt-wearing, face-painted, Exeterflag-waving rabble-rousers who stir up school spirit BIG RED SPIRIT by any means necessary. Everyone participates in athletics here, whether they are practicing (Well, they get really loud. . . ) yoga, joining the technical crew for main stage productions, or competing in intramural, junior varsity or varsity-level sports. On big game days, players who aren’t on the field (or the ice, on the track or court, in the pool . . .you get the idea) are in the stands, united in their school pride and led in cheering by the Red Bandits.* 13
