My Valentine ’ s story That was a boy . His name was John . He liked reading books and learning very much . He was the best in the school . He was very intelligent but he didn ’ t have any friends , except me . I was his only friend . One day , on Valentine ’ s day I persuaded him to go out . We went to Pizza Hut . We sat by the window . When we chose what we wanted to eat we asked a waitress . Waitress was very nice and I thought that she liked my a little bit weird friend . They were joking and laughing . When she left our table I started persuading John to ask this nice girl for a date . Immediately he said : ,, No ”. I asked him : ,, Why John ? She is very nice ! And she may like you . It is your chance not to be alone !” He looked at me distressed . I knew that I said too much . He didn ’ t like when somebody reminded him this fact . He has never had a girlfriend despite the fact that I was his only friend in all his life ( it means nineteen years ) and I was a girl . I reminded him this sad fact . In one second we started fighting . He said that it was not my business what he felt and I ( thanks God ) would not decide about his emotional life ! I was very shocked . He looked angry and I was a little scared about that . He took his bag and in the next moment he left the restaurant . I was trying to stop him but it didn ’ t work . I felt terrible . I was like all these girls in a TV series . I felt like a bad character . I knew that my friend was very shy and he didn ’ t like when somebody was telling him what he should do , but this time his reaction was really weird . I was drinking water when the girl came to me . She asked me : ,, Why did your friend leave the restaurant so fast ?”. I told her : ,, Because we had a fight .”. She was cleaning a table . She was ready to leave me alone but I asked her in the last second : ,, Do you like my friend ?” The girl was surprised because of my question . She didn ’ t expect a question like this . She said : ,, I don ’ t know him very much but he seems to be a good guy . I was a little sad when he left the restaurant . I wanted to talk with him .” After this I asked : ,, About what ? Did you want to ask him for a date ?” She said : ,, Sorry but I don ’ t feel comfortable when I ’ m talking with a stranger about things like these .” I said : ,, Sure , everybody would feel uncomfortable . I can give you his phone number if you want .” She took a number and after that I left . She told me that her name was Ann . Hmmm …. John and Ann . Doesn ’ t it sound beautiful ? John and Ann . Ann and John . I hoped that my friend would forgive me . I came back home and I went to bed . The next day John called me : ,, I ’ m sorry for my yesterday reaction . I ’ m so embarrassed because of that . Can you forgive me ? You know what ? This waitress from yesterday called me ! Her name is Ann and she asked me for a date ! She said that she liked a lot of science – fiction stories and Marvel ! Exactly like me ! I ’ m going out with her on Sunday . We will go bowling . But there is something I don ’ t understand . How did she get my phone number ?’’. I told him : ,, I have no idea . But I ’ m very happy . Maybe she is a witch or it ’ s a Valentine ’ s miracle ? Haha !”. We both started laughing . I didn ’ t want to tell John how Ann got his number . I wanted him to feel that it was really magical . John and Ann liked each other a lot . They are studying at the same university and they are planning now their future together .
