Ancestral diets have sustained our species for millions of years, and there’s no doubt that a contemporary Paleo diet is an extremely healthy way of eating. However, it’s important not to get narrow-minded and look at the Paleo diet as the only viable approach out there. Populations around the world have thrived on everything from high-carbohydrate, plant-based diets that contain a fair amount of neolithic foods to low-carbohydrate, meat-based diets high in animal products.
