Barter Town
Each tribe had only one true mission for the game. They had to
hunt and gather props to raise
their level of technological advancement. Some props were just
pieces that had to be assembled to
make more important technology.
These included phones, radios, a
cannon, and even a doomsday device. Ben Torricelli of MPP Games,
decided to see if a game could be
run by not controlling the flow of
the game with missions. From the
reactions of most of the players,
this style of game was a hit. According to Tyler of Omega Tribe, “I
thought it made the general’s job
a lot easier, since all you really had
to worry about was troop placement and getting props off the field
periodically.” But collecting props
was not the only way for the tribes
of Alpha and Omega to get ahead.
They could also purchase some
items they needed at Barter Town.
The only way to get things from
Barter town was to purchase them
with gold in bar and coin form

Barter Town was developed from
the craziest minds known to Bear
Claw Paintball. Bobio and Wizard
from the scenario team, Blackhearts got together with Ben and
came up with the idea of Barter
Town. Here, gold is king, and a
player could purchase just about
anything. These mad men went as
far as creating a background for
the people running Barter town.
According to a file retrieved from
a burned out government building the men running Barter Town
were escaped aliens that crashed
on Earth. One of them was even
credited with starting World War
2. Rumor has it that these aliens
lived for war and wanted the tribes
to fight. When you visited Barter
Town, you had to know the password in order to even talk to the
about buying anything. The tribes
started the game with no special
characters and had to purchase
them from these strange men of
Barter Town. These included medics, demolition packs, law rocket
launchers, and even tanks! It is
even rumored that they could even
hook up a tribe with a doomsday
device for the right price.
Saturday - The Hunt is On!
After a cold night, Saturday morning welcomed warm weather for
the start of the game. Each tribe
took to the field and went right to
their bases to to plan out what to
do. The only clue that Ben would
give was to find gold to purchase
items from Barter Town, and to
find props that were scattered
