Do you have any home teams, either
scenario or tournament teams?
Nitro has several home teams:
KSU,GT,GSU,SPSU,UT. These college
teams come in for regular practices a
couple of time a month. Along with them
I sponsor a couple of Divisional teams.
Our Milsim team, “5X5” plays 6-8 scenario games a season. Then there is our
house team, “Team Nitro” which plays
the MILP & GFOA series.
Do you also have a store?
We do not have a store but carry a few
items that players might need for a day’s
play. Anything else is custom ordered.
Tell us about your personal paintball story. How did you get involved in paintball
and opening a paintball field?
I played my first game of paintball in
the year 2000 at a birthday party. I had
never even heard of paintball before
that day and I was instantly hooked.
The last business I owned was a Call
Center, which I hated, so when I saw all
those folks having that much fun I thought
opening a field would be a great way to
make a living. I decided that paintball
would be my next business. It took a
long time to find a suitable piece of land
where I could build a field and I eventually found 25 acres just 3 miles outside
of downtown Canton, Georgia. After
some regulatory hurdles we got the okay
from the county and built Nitro opening
in April 2002.Nitro began as a business
but it has become a passion for me. I
love the sport itself but more importantly
I love watching the players grow both on
and off the field and I feel honored to be
a part of that growth.
What is the state of paintball in your
area?
Paintball in our area is difficult at times.
There are 3 or 4 other fields we compete
with. A field has to be relevant, clean,
friendly, safe and fairly priced in order to
