PB Field Spotlight By John Amodea Mario, what is the history of Nitro Paintball? When did the field open? Where are you located? Etc. The first couple of years were difficult. Customers were few and far between. Back then most people who played paintball did it in their own backyard. My belief when I decided to build the field was that if I built a field, people would come... boy was I wrong! My wife and I spent many a day sitting in the office trailer playing cards waiting for folks to show up to play. Some days just three people would come and we would have to play with just those three. However, we made sure they had the best time possible in the hope that when they returned they would bring their friends with them. We worked hard at building a customer base by making people feel welcome. The field grew and continues to grow using that same word of mouth reputation. You advertise that your field is family friendly, please tell us about that? We are and always have been a family business. My wife and daughter run the 88 check in area, bookings and administration. My son Niko and I run the field ensuring that our guests are having fun and are safe. Niko also is our Webmaster. Our referees all started as players at the field and are like our extended family. We pride ourselves on making paintball an experience not just a game. Every customer is important to us and over the years so many of them have become good friends. Many of our players shot their first paintball at Nitro at the age of ten or eleven and now we attend their college graduations and weddings. A lot of the boys spend every weekend at the field and so we feel as though we are their surrogate parents. What type of fields do you have at Nitro Paintball? There are 8 different fields at Nitro: Large Spool Ball, Hyperball, Castle, Fort, Hamburger Hill, Western Town and our regulation size PSP Field. Our PSP pits are complete with air and chronographs along with 46” monitors so we can run X-ball games and watch webcasts when available. PAINTBAL
