39 Chicago’s pro Champions division started out how it often does, with San Diego Dynasty winning their first two games. Tampa Bay Damage also won their first two. The LA Ironmen however, were the only pro team to win their first three games. After a first game loss to Damage, Houston Heat bounced back with three straight wins to close their preliminary round. Damage, the LA Ironmen and Houston Heat were the only pro teams to win three of their four first round games. In the Ocho finals it was upTon 187 cRew with a 6-4 win over Chicago Aftershock, sending ‘Shock down to the pro Challengers division for the PSP’s West Coast Open. Omaha Vicious knocked off San Antonio X-Factor, PSP World Cup winners in 2013, sending them down as well. After 9th and 11th place finishes in the first two PSP events of 2014, Houston Heat needed things to break right in Chicago--and break right they did. In the pro semifinals Houston Heat put a beat-down on the LA Ironmen, 6-3 moving them into the finals for the first time in 2014 in PSP play. Edmonton Impact then handles their business against Tampa Bay Damage with a 7-5 win, setting up an Impact versus Houston Heat pro finals. In the finals Houston Heat was no match for Edmonton Impact as the boys from north of the border blew out the Heat 7-2 to take their first PSP title this season. Impact now has one PSP win, a second place finish and three Millennium Series wins and are building quite an amazing season in 2014. Ten Teams entered the pro Challengers division in the PSP Chicago Open, each hoping for a chance to move up to the Champions division. LA Infamous won their first three preliminary round games and narrowly lost their fourth, looking like the team to beat in one bracket.
