barrel, accuracy was nearly

credit this mainly to the consistency of the
gun’s regulator,
with equal credit
going to the DW

consistent paint.
The first thing we noticed right off
the bat is that the 2014 Vapor is
light. On a whim, my wife Ashley
set the gun up for her using her
45/4500 tank, and handed it to
her 5 year old daughter. Tall for
her age, but overly skinny, Tinsley
is by no means a burly child, but
despite her small size, she was
able to properly shoulder the 2014
Vapor/Rotor/45/4500 combo with
no difficulties.
The firing impulse of the
2014 Vapor is
different than
the previous design’s, being slightly harsher than
the 2012 gun’s, which benefited
from the efficiency valve. It’s a
matter of degrees, however. Nobody who shot the 2014 Vapor
accused it of hopping around in
their hands or having any ‘recoil’
to speak of. Using PSP Ramping,
the gun does have a chattering
quality to it, slightly louder than
the 2012.
On the field, we both noted that
that 2014 is somewhat louder than
the 2012, but it’s by no means a
cannon sound wise. Consistency
over the chronograph was more
than acceptable, given that the
gun was not broken in and conditions during testing were extremely humid. Shots with a 4 feet per
second spread were the average,
with the spread getting worse
when using the lower grade Valken
Echo. As expected using Valk-
During the course of several weekends of play at Scenario games at
Low Country Paintball (GA) and
Hurricane Paintball Park (FL) the
2014 Vapor got admirable efficiency. Extrapolated figures indicate
that 9+ pods per 4500 psi fill on
the 68/4500 air system were possible, with 7 pods and a hopper
with 1000 psi remaining being
our observed efficiency under real
playing conditions. Several different player types used the gun
