Houston Heat and Edmonton Impact continued
their stellar play in the semifinals where each won
their games to set up an all-North American final
round of Houston Heat Versus Edmonton Impact.
Earlier we mentioned that Impact already played
and beat Heat in the preliminary rounds--and once
again that is what happened in the finals. Impact
4, Heat 2. Outrage Valence beat Offenburg Comin
At Ya to claim third place.
The SPL1 (Semi Professional League) Division
was jam packed with talented, seasoned teams
like FiveStar Lleida (Spain), Amsterdam Heat
(Netherlands), Scorpions Milano (Italy), Hulk
Kiev (Ukrane), Pyatigorsk Russian Roulette (Russia), MLKings Prague (Czech Republic), Falkoping
Mashive (Sweden) just to name a few.
If you don’t think teams at this level take their
training seriously you might want to know that
Hulk Kiev recently enlisted the services of fitness
trainer Oksana Orobets to help maximize their
talents and skills. An less than a month later Hulk
Kiev ran through the SPL1 division with only one
loss, taking first place in the process. The team
Hulk beat in the finals, Falkoping Mashive, also
only had one loss in the tournament. Unfortunately for them it was in the final match. MLKings
Prague and Toulouse Dagnir Dae finished in third
and fourth places respectively.
Twenty four teams from all over Europe entered
the SPL2 division--names like Manchester Firm,
London Nexus 2, Vienna United and many more
teams of note. Extreme Neapolis and Vienna United were just dominant in the preliminary rounds.
Razorback Saint Etienne and Manchester Firm,
along with the two teams mentioned above each
won their three preliminary round games. As the
event wore on it was evident that Brussels Heat
and Fighter Pro-Shar Perm were playing the best
