95 fed the guns consistently. At the Low Country Paintball event in particular, the hoppers were abused with multiple close range shots to the hopper. Even shots managing to get past the Insta-Gate and into the hopper caused no lasting damage, other than to the paint in the hopper itself. At one point during a CFPS event in Lakeland, Florida, 6’5” Taylor Ashton spiked the hopper as hard as he could into the ground trying to cause damage to it. Aside from flying into the 3 separate chunks that comprise the Gear, no damage was incurred by the hopper, and Taylor noted that the motor and electronics continued to run. We considered doing the shotgun torture test, but all we had available was 00 buck shot and deer slugs, which can and will destroy everything in their path, including the neighborhood. Author’s Note: No animals were bunkered during the course of this review. In either event, Kye The Death Kitty is notorious for wiping hits anyhow. Currently the Gear is available in a black/smoke combo, and the only accessory currently available is the Insta-Gate’ open feed, which costs $20. The MSRP in the Gear is $200, which is roughly the same as its’ high end competitors.
