66 It was Tampa Bay Damage looking great in round one of the pro division, with four wins in four tries. Conversely and almost unimaginably, Dynasty lost all five of their WCO games. That makes seven straight losses for Dynasty if you go back to the last two matches in Chicago. Needless to say, Dynasty didn’t advance to the second round at the WCO and in fact, they have been relegated to the Challenger’s Division for the World Cup. Dynasty has never been relegated in their history. Edmonton Impact, Moscow Red Legion and Russia’s Art Chaos each won three of their first four games. Moving to the Pro semifinals it was Art Chaos beating Red Legion in the all-Russia matchup. That win sent Art Chaos to the finals for the first time this season. Art Chaos has been a picture of consistency this season, but not the type of consistency they were looking for with two 11th place finishes sandwiched around a 10th place in Chicago. But as we’ve noted many times, you just never know what’s going to happen in the Pro division of the PSP. In the other semifinal bracket it was Edmonton Impact edging out Tampa Bay Damage by a single point, setting up a Canada versus Russia final round. Art Chaos kept it rolling right into and through the finals with an impressive 7-4 win over Edmonton Impact, which as everyone knows, is one of the toughest teams in the league. Congrats to Art Chaos on the win. The Challenger’s Division, which now has Chicago Aftershock, San Antonio X-Factor, Baltimore Revo, Red Storm from Russia, Los Angeles Infamous, Sacramento XSV and others is really at its most competitive point ever. Getting out of this division and back into the Champion’s Division is harder than ever. Just ask Aftershock, XSV and Infamous, three storied paintball franchises that will not graduate for the World Cup. On the other hand Baltimore Revo and San Antonio X-Factor will join the Champion’s Division at ‘Cup after they met in the WCO Challenger’s Division finals. In that match it was X-Facto r taking first place with a 6-4 win over Revo. august 2014
