Product Review trigger all the way, resulting in a misfire or chopped paintball. With a bottle and hopper attached, the Resurrection Autococker weighs around seven pounds ready to hit the field. Its comfortable, single-trigger .45 grip frame feels natural in the hand and the marker points instinctively. Even after several hundred rounds fired through it, the Resurrection has yet to chop a ball, a testament to its snappy trigger return that all but ensures the shooter pulls and releases the trigger fully. Thanks to the included barrel kit, we have yet to experience a ball rolling out the barrel, as we’ve been able to properly size the barrel to our paint with every brand we’ve tried. Due to the barrel’s porting, the marker shoots fairly quietly as well. Though it certainly isn’t a speed demon due to its single, slide trigger frame that will limit attainable rates of fire to less than ten paintballs per second for anyone but those with the strongest hands, that isn’t the point. The marker’s closed-bolt accuracy delivers single paintballs or two and three-shot snaps into targets near and far allowing players to pick their targets and drop well-aimed shots through gaps in bunkers or foliage on wooded fields or into the perfect spot on a speedball or air ball field with a little practice. Some players will enjoy the challenge of competing against electronic markers with something that doesn’t ramp or need batteries, while others will love shooting a little faster than a pump without having to buy two or three cases every time they show up to the paintball field. In a world of thousand dollar electronic paintball guns it may not be the next big thing. It’s a new Autococker and for players who have been around a while, or those looking for a unique, high-quality mechanical paintball gun that’s exciting. What’s also exciting is Empire’s ability to blend a great name, a true piece of paintball’s history, with an efficient, functional new design to create a great paintball marker that isn’t just the same old thing repackaged and re-anodized for a new season. For players looking for a true challenge that’s a little faster than a pump and that takes some skill and practice to truly shoot well, the Empire Resurrection Autococker is a great addition to the gear bag. www.EmpirePaintball.com MSRP $549.95 96 PAINTBALLX3.COM
