P2S EDUCATION SERIES O ur Director of Mechanical Engineering for Healthcare, Zoltan Mezei, and the P2S Cx team have been busy traveling across Southern California to speak with architects about Title 24 commissioning requirements for commercial buildings over 10,000 SF. Understanding all the required Cx services under California code saves architects from billing additional costs to their clients and makes commissioning easier to integrate into the overall project. Cx Group Manager, David Howard, commenced the Lunch n' Learn series at Gensler Architects. Of that first session David says, “The intent is to help architects understand what they need to know in order to be in compliance with Title 24 commissioning requirements when they design a building and how to prepare the owners for the additional cost for commissioning." Zoltan and the Cx Team then took the Cx information session to HMC, c|a, Taylor and Ware Malcomb. With five more commissioning Lunch n' Learns planned for 2016, Zoltan and the Cx Team will be busy. Here’s what the architects are saying about the presentations: “Commissioning has become an important part of complete project delivery and architects need to understand how commissioning is integrated into the design and construction process. This presentation was enjoyable, and gave us the information we needed, without trying to turn us into engineers.” –David Chartier, Senior Vice President, c|a Architects “It is through seminars like these that our staff learns of new systems, are reminded of previous techniques, and increase their personal portfolio of knowledge. We appreciate P2S’ contribution to our learning environment, as we make every effort to provide educational opportunities as frequently as possible.” –Tammy Finazzo, HMC Support Services Coordinator 7
