We used to pay a project engineer to manually post and update drawings throughout a project which might take as much as 8 hours / week or in recent times have that same project engineer manually hyperlink the details of the drawings taking 40-60 hours that the beginning of a project . Today , we can post the drawings within minutes of receiving an RFI response or automatically hyperlink the details of the drawings . Another advantage is the real-time collaboration on documents between team members . A document can be posted on Studio and marked-up or commented on by multiple reviewers at the same time eliminating routing delays or duplicate efforts .
While this is one example , there are a number of construction software providers that are unveiling new technology designed to improve communication between project stakeholders . Which of these innovations you would like to use in the upcoming years ? There are a lot of construction software programs on the market . They all range in price and capability . We really try to remain agnostic to specific software as most owners will employ their own . Our goal is to use their system and minimize or eliminate the double entry of data . One of the downfalls I see in the industry with electronic project management is everyone requiring the information is put in their system . This requires you to log-in to two systems and input the data twice so it is in your system and the owners .
