"Bridge the Gap Between the Earth and the Heavens in Bakasana"

Bakasana, or Crow pose can be one of the most empowering and freeing poses in yoga, but it can also be one of the most elusive and humbling. I personally struggled with this pose (and still do at times) for many years. It takes tremendous focus and concentration, and a good sense of balance and strength. Unfortunately this is basically a good recipe for self doubt, fear, and the heaviness of dread.

However, if we use a few precautions, we can let go and be light and free to fly! Remember one of the cardinal rules of yoga, it's a journey not a destination. So rushing the process will not necessarily make it happen faster for you. If it doesn't come immediately, don't give up, it will come when the time is right. Fearlessness and strength can sometimes be found at the center of patience.

If you are pregnant please seek the advice of your doctor. This pose is contraindicated for carpel tunnel and wrist, shoulder or hand injuries.

You will need a few tools a large fluffy pillow or bolster to break your fall. We don't want you to do a face plant on the floor! You will also need set of blocks, a smile, and the ability to take yourself lightly.
