Fleetwood Town Juniors

GRASSROOT CODLINGS

One of the most satisfying feelings in my life is the reward of 17 Children at Fleetwood Town Juniors building a bond, a friendship, team spirit and developing their own technical abilities through an overall focus of Football.

Fleetwood Town Juniors is a self run FA Chartered standard Club, ran by a small number of volunteers with the majority of the home games played in the shadow of Fleetwood Towns Highbury Stadium at Fleetwood Memorial Park. We are a progressive Club, with many of the obstacles that Grass Roots Clubs encounter.

One-Two Magazine/September, 2013

The Club runs from Under 8s to Under 16s Boys and Girls and also a Saturday Morning Soccer School ran in partnership with Fleetwood Town FC.

I’m Andy Smart, Manager of our Under 9s. The Under 9s play in the Poulton & District Primary League. The core of the team has developed from our Saturday Morning Soccer School and myself and my Assistant Manager firmly believe in the ethics of playing football with no pressure and learning in a fun environment. We have lost some games, drawn some and won some – but most of all every player has walked off the pitch with their team mates, upbeat and ready to learn again. We include many days out to our planning also, not just focussing on football but other youth interests too.

As the players reach 17 we would like each and every one of them to have enjoyed their time at Fleetwood Town Juniors, some may be staying on the Football trail, possibly move onto Fleetwood Town FC -but also some will look back and say, “I’ve loved playing for the team, I’ve got great memories and I have developed in many different ways especially on the Football Field.”

Globe Bulls are a team based in Accrington, Lancashire we play in the ADJFL and also the ELFA. The team is run by myself Anthony O’’Donnell and coach Wayne Roberts we have been with the lads since 2009 when they first arrived at the clubs academy training. We have been training the lads for over 3 years now and seen them grown into a group of very good footballers at grassroots level.

We have been lucky to do this with the lads and we hope to keep them together until the older age groups.

The lads have become very good friends and spend a lot of time away from the club together which makes the team spirit a lot stronger.

The lads have been on many tournaments during the summers and come back with a few wining trophys. When you see the lads winning something, the smile on their faces makes all the hard work worth while.
