Haslingden Girls
trust coaches, in conjunction with Haslingden girls fc, have introduced afters school coaching to the local junior schools for girls only. Currently 8 schools have taken up the offer and each school has received 3 x 1 hour coaching sessions. This has seen around 8 new girls come along to one of our training nights. Advertisement Banners for recruitment have been placed around the area and the club ensure news paper articles are frequently sent to the Free Press. As part of our commitment, the club has paid for 3, U17 Haslingden football players to do their level 1 coaching badge. The girls then dedicate at least 1 hour a week coaching to the younger teams. The club has also recently set up its own web site www. haslingdenjuniorgirlsfc.com this has helped with communication and promotion of the club. Chairman Stephen Felinski said ‘’there has been a lot of hard work and dedication been given to offer girls football to continue in the valley, and there is still a lot more to do if we are to succeed’’. The start of the 2012-2013 season has seen some very positive results. With the U12’s having, won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1, and the U13’s having won 3, drawn 1 and lost 2. aslingden Junior Girl’s football club was founded back in August 2001. This season will be their 11th season in the North Valley Youth Football League. The club is run solely by volunteers and has now 10 members helping to manage the club. The club reached charity status in 2009 and is currently applying to become a Charter Standard club. They have four teams, U15’s, U13’s, U12’s and an U11’s. There are around 47 girls playing for the club, but we are growing all the time. Haslingden Junior Girls is the only remaining, all girl’s football club in the Rossendale Borough. We have tried to form a strategy to ensure that girl’s football continues to grow from strength to strength. One of these initiatives was to form new partnerships with Rossendale Leisure trust and the Rossendale forum. As part of a recent grant Rossendale leisure
