Your Last OJCL Convention

The day has finally come, my fellow seniors. I have dreaded my last OJCL convention since the day I stepped foot inside of my first OJCL General Assembly all the way back in eighth grade. However, I still think we can make this convention the best and most memorable yet! So save your tears for the farewell speeches and follow this list:
Do as many contests as you physically can. Try out Sight Reading, a Graphics Arts category that isn't Photography, the Grammar test, or playing wildcard Certamen and have zero regrets!
Sit with people from another grade level or school (or both!) at a meal. Getting to know people is great, especially if they're a JCLer!
Yell the NJCL Creed and lovingly sing the NJCL Song at every General Assembly.
Get involved with an election by helping a campaign! Any candidate would love to have the help of a senior and it is a great way to meet even more people.
Try to go to as many convention events as possible, like Colloquia or Meet the Candidates. Go to the dance, it will actually be cool this year!
Join the SCL! For the past 5 years they've been bragging about how awesome they are, so that might be true. Also it's a great way to continue your love for classics into college and keep in touch with your friends.
Spend time with your school, especially your friends that have been with you since your first convention. Cherish your time together.
Cry your heart out during the farewell speeches. No one will judge you, unless you are on the board #BrianJohnsonWillCry.
Thank your Latin teacher or sponsor. They deserve so much more credit that they get, and I am willing to bet that they convinced you to attend your first convention.
Attend NJCL convention! It's a great way to cap off your time as JCLer, and also is a great opportunity to attend your first national convention!
