Join MAASU Fall Leadership Retreat (MAASU LR) this year at the University of Missouri from November 14
15th. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your leadership skills, network with students from across
the Midwest and have fun! We have workshop speakers coming in from New York, Washington D.C., Chi
cago, a few alums and more. The theme this year is Sail to New Horizons: Discover, Explore, Dream based
on a quote from famous Missourian Mark Twain: “Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe
harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Opportunity for participation in a brief survey for students of Color who are currently
SOPHOMORES / 2nd YEAR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS :
Dear student, my name is John McCullagh and I am a researcher at the University of North
Dakota. I would like to invite you to participate in a brief survey. This survey should take about
15-20 minutes of your time. In order to participate in this study you must be a student of color, at
least be 18 years old, and was a Freshman last academic year (2013-2014 school year).
Participation in this study will give you a chance to win one of four $25 dollar Visa gift cards.
