there are also plans to expand the Sunshine
Coast Airport, to be completed by 2020.
This project alone is forecast to generate
$4.1 billion for the local economy through
to 2040 and more than 2200 jobs in the
same period.

Mayor Jamieson said the transformation of
our economy and the region has already
begun, but it is important that the region
manages its growth and plans for the future
in a way that is sustainable – and that is
where USC plays an important role.
